Welfare

The College should be the first port of call for a student experiencing difficulties, these could be related to academic, financial, health, personal, family or flat-mate issues. There are a number of staff available to deal with various issues and these are collectively known as the Welfare Team. If you need to discuss any concerns or would like an appointment with a member of the team, then please email bowlandwelfare@lancaster.ac.uk. If an appointment is required, you will be offered one with the person most able to assist you.

College Advisors

Each first year student is assigned a College Advisor, a member of university staff who is able to provide pastoral support by providing a point of contact that students can go to for advice and guidance, which may include financial advice, study support or personal welfare issues. Incoming students will meet their College Advisor during Welcome Week.

Occasionally, students prefer to get advice from a fellow student in the first instance and the JCR have a team of Welfare Officers who you can approach informally during term time. They have office hours which are advertised via the Facebook page or email them via the links below.

Oli Self, Male Welfare Rep
