Guide to Graduation

The Ceremonies web pages have general advice and guidance about the day, so do take a look for further information. This includes what you need to do prior to your graduation day, what happens on the day and a list of frequently asked questions.

Book Your Gown: You must wear the correct academic dress at your ceremony. Book your gown online here. You will need to know: the date and time of your ceremony, your qualification, your height, chest measurement, and hat size (the circumference of head taken just above your ears).

Extra Tickets: Although it is unlikley that there will be space to offer more than two guest tickets for the Ceremony in the Great Hall, you can request them! When you register you can ask for up to 2 extra tickets and your guests will be added to a waiting list. For those who don’t get a ticket for the hall, the ceremony is screened live on all screens across campus, as well as on large screens within the Faraday Building.

Live Screenings of Ceremonies – Faraday Building: Guests without tickets to the ceremony can watch the ceremony live on big screens in the Faraday Building. This venue is staffed and fully accessible, with Degree Day programmes available on request. No tickets are required for the live broadcast venue.

Wi-Fi Access for your Graduation Guests: Your family and friends can get online while they are on campus by using the Visitor Wi-Fi service. They simply select the LU-Visitor network on their device and follow the instructions on the registration screens. LU-Visitor provides access for 24 hours, after which time visitors will have to register again.
